BEAUTY JUNKIE: Hair Transformation ft. Keune Color Craving!

Because life is too short and the world is colorful, it only makes sense to do everything in this life that makes you happy. And one of the things that truly makes me happy, is colorful hair! People call me balsy in terms of hair coloring because not many people try coloring their hair several times with bold colors. Generally people think if the color their hair once, they’ll start getting they greys and whites. But in my experience, after a billion tube dyes, my hair is still of the same integrity, texture, with no whites or greys, yet. And besides, even if I do get greys and whites, I’ll honor them, because hello Salt and pepper hairrr

This crazy theory might not work for 99% of the people, but I belong to that 1% of the people that don’t really overthink about it because dude, hair grows back, and life goes on. Amidst my wisdom session, and after my horrendous hair transformation experience, I agreed on the terms of DIY dye-ing my hair! The trust issues I have with parlor waalian continues to prove me right to not waste my time and money on them (although there are some reaaalllyyyy badass hair colorists in Karachi. Will cover them in a blog soon-is. Bear with me).

So yes, starting from where I left in the last blog, my mahogany red hair over the blonde-ass-porous-ass-asian-ass hair, didn’t last for a very long time. After a couple of washes, the previously bleached part of my hair started to fade away in the most ombre manner as possible and I wasn’t even mad at it (they looked kinda nice).

Seizing the opportunity of the pre-lightened hair, I saw that Keune Color Craving were being sold in Pakistan on daraz.pk! There were like EIGHT beautiful colors to pick from, and so, I saw this beautiful purple shade called Passionate pink and I ordered it right away. After it came in the mail, I was SHOOK!

It was NOT what was displayed on the website (I should’ve googled it. I’m DUMB). So, Yeah, I had a crazy shocking pink semi-permanent hair color now! After a lot of consideration and searching for directions, I found out they were supposed to be used directly from the gorgeously tinted tube (without the developer). The result had me SHOOKKK! Since my hair were partially lightened with the brownish undertone, after the dye, my hair were SOLID maroon! And I kinda loved it!

Unfortunately, with the pros of KEUNE COLOR CRAVING, there are also cons. The cons being that the color will completely wash out in around 3-4 showers. And it will always stain the bathroom floor/towel/the clothes in which the water from the hair seeps into/the wall you were leaning on while your hair were wet. So yeah. I’d give Keune 4/5 in terms of no commitment experimentation with hair colors!
Soon after this experiment, I ordered another color from daraz.pk called Velvet Violet, which was a very pretty pinkish purple!

This time I expected very purple hair, but since the pre-lightened hair were of the brown undertone, the color turned out legit dark violet with a slight pink hue.

After all these hair experiments, the integrity of my hair wasn’t really that much affected, since the damage was already done during the last major hair transformation. Although, the hairfall has been my constant worry since like monthsss (I have dandruff+hairfall issues and that is why I don’t use hairdye on my roots, like, ever!). It never made sense to me how dying my tips would affect my roots, but yeah, I’m still struggling to strengthen my roots by oiling them, using hair masks and what not. As for the people who ask if hairdyes would damage the hair, I would totally suggest them to either get their hair done by a professional who would do multiple hair strengthening treatments to sustain the integrity of the hair, and still manage to color them gorgeously, orrrr they could dye their hair themselves and not complain, because honey, fashion comes with a price :p but yeah, do take good care of your hair and everything will be worth it.

PLUS, as I’m writing this blog, I want you all to know I colored my hair again, and now, they’re of totalllyyy different color! So stay tuned to my blog to read about another exciting hair journey! Till then ADIOS!

Digitally Trippy,

Wurduh Jaffri.
