And We Zinged!

How we met

The first time she caught my eye,
Leapt from behind the door to pry,
she wore a wreath around her head,
 caught me staring, and misread.

Her cheeks turned crimson, and her smile faded,
the rose-lipt maiden, felt rued and raided,
lowered her chin and closed her eyes,
her thick long lashes, wrapped me up in sighs.

But then we burst out in fits of laughter,
we both were in awe, then and after.

This is one of my random scribbles. Hope you all liked it. It's sort of my idea of a lady meeting her significant other in the most sudden way and actually sort of zing-ing at their first sight. I hope y'all are familiar with the term 'zing'.. its like when you meet a particular person and for the first time you feel that instant connection like someone (cupid) just hit you hard with something (the love arrow) and all you see around is that person :') Of course, It never happened with me.. YET.. :p Till I find my significant other and zing and stuff, this is me, signing off!

Word Vomit..

Bizarrely Twilled

When the love palls and expires
dwindling hopes and desires
profuse rush of our dreams, collapsing through
filled with profanities and tragedies too.

Termed us insipid and walked away all livid
satiating their needs, their plans, their dreams.
Being benevolent felt good but it got us nowhere
look what we got into; a never-ending snare.

Indulged in debauchery but deny to sin
lazily slipshod and slovenly ill
vitiated and mutilated by haste and filth
penchant to self-destruct and bizarrely twilled.

Wrote this a couple of months back when i was in another one of my phases. The kind of phase when you're angry at particularly no one. So this was the sort of a word vomit of an angry woman. Hope y'all actually understand what my brain was going through.

Dark Musings.

Death
I shall not kill myself,
this escape is just temporary,
for this coward act will bring wrath,
to my end and my dignity.

This life is worth a lot more,
wounds heal and scars fade away,
broken hearts will eventually mend,
and failures shall turn its way.

They say if you choose this easy way out,
you shall be hanged beyond the realms, till eternity,
even on judgement day, thou shalt not pass,
For the heavens awaited you, but you chose death fervently.

My insurgence will lead me nowhere,
this life is a gift, I shall face it.
But if its written in my fate, I cannot escape,
for when death comes, I shall embrace it.

24.11.14

I've been suicidal a couple of times but got help from people to overcome that feeling. Recently someone I love dearly was going through the same phase and hence I wrote this for her. After reading this, she overcame the cause of her depression and was thankful. Words do have power to change one's mind and I am glad i could help her. Now whenever I am feeling low or get suicidal thoughts, I instantly reads this and in a jiffy, I'm all better :) If anyone out there is feeling depressed or suicidal, just remember, ITS NOT THE END. If you know anyone who might need any help, Please share the blog with them. Stay happy, Stay positive and Stay super super blessed y'all.

Poems and feels

Heavens Abode
Beyond this life, in an unfathomed world,
lies the joy of my soul,
the pain and agony I foretold;
will vanish in the dust of gold.

For the Kings and Queens; Low and behold,
with all the power that they bore,
will wipe the tears of sorrow and pain,
and turn them in tears of joy and sane.

For all the unjust, I've faced before,
and the countless times my heart was tore,
a time will come I'll be avenged,
without seeking vengeance, I'll get revenge.

The Kings and Queens, for me, they shall speak,
with angels too, I would not be week.
In peace, I shall rest; it'll be worth my wait;
for this unfathomed kingdom, I'm not late.

The life I always wanted, was twisted and bent,
by the demons and monsters, we repent.

But till I enter this world of beauty,
with high morale, it is my duty,
to fight with every breath I vent,
and take back the joy and smile I rent.

I wrote this and couple of more pieces a while back when I was going through a phase. Hope y'all liked this. :) Till I post more of my musings, ciao!

The Hilarious #AsalFoodie Clay-animation Video!!

The TVCs' of Pakistani brands rarely leaves a lasting impression for the people that they would remember for a long time. Watching these commercials and infomercials might be fun when they're new and stuff, but with time, the increasing number of these advertisements between our favorite TV shows can be a bit overwhelming. Be it a funny commercial or a brilliant emotional one, the viewer has seen it all. In between these innumerable adverts, only some brands are daring enough to try out and experiment with new things.

Likewise, 7up has taken somewhat a very bold step of introducing claymation, or clay animation for their new video and has brilliantly executed the job of thinking wayyy out of the box. If y'all haven't seen the #AsalFoodie video, WATCH IT here. PRONTO DENTE'!

Lately 7up has been exploring several different platforms to engage with #AsalFoodies. Like their foodie double decker in Lahore and floating board and the 7up foodie cruise in Karachi proved that the brand encourages new challenges and always succeed in executing them.

The latest 7up video is one of the example where they’ve created a story line from an actual food's point of view while keeping their relationship with foodie intact. The video shows the food's love for the #AsalFoodie which is quite new and very interesting and not something we've seen in the Pakistani market before. This hilarious video is a perfect execution of claymation which will definitely make you laugh for quite some time while you enjoy the enchanting visuals of the video.

The video is an entertaining and very funny conversation between a tempting plate of fabulous and somewhat diva-like Biryani with a feisty and spirited plate of Chaat who is equally the diva within herself.  As they continue to debate over themselves being deserving of being honored and eaten by a #AsalFoodie himself, they absolutely do not expect any ordinary foodie to enjoy them.

Now I'm not gonna tell y'all what happens in the end, but one thing for sure, Y'ALL DO NOT WANT TO MISS OUT ON THE HILARIOUS ENDING!

Will the fabulous Plate of Biryani win this round? Or will it be our Desi diva CHAAT! Find out more by watching the video right here on their facebook pageand make sure to hit like and share some laughs with your #AsalFoodie friends out there!
This video also leaves a very important question for us #AsalFoodie s out there. BIRYANI OR CHAATTT???

Hmm that's a tough one indeed! Till y'all #AsalFoodies decide, this is me, signing off.

PEPSI Pakistan presents: #ChandSitara by Shoaib Mansoor!

After a breakthrough initiative by Pepsi Pakistan for the campaign 'Lighting Up Lives', Pepsi Pakistan in collaboration with Shoaib Mansoor, and some familiar music legends just came up with the most brilliant initiative Chamke Hum Se Pakistan, with an anthem #ChandSitara. The video of #ChandSitara features some amazing yet highly under-rated heroes and highlights the beauty of the country and the brains that are appreciated and recognized around the world, yet are little known here in their own country. Pepsi Pakistan became the voice of our unsung heroes.

Pepsi Pakistan's new initiative Chamke Hum Se Pakistan was to be launched with an extremely catchy anthem #ChandSitara and a video on Pakistan's Independence Day. Y'all can watch the video here and drool over how the cinematography and the lyrics and probably everything about the video are so perfect!

Almost a decade ago, the visionary, the amazing Shoaib Mansoor, and the legends of Pakistani music, like Shahi Hasan brought forward the song 'DilDil Pakistan' which is probably the most celebrated song of the nation, has now teamed up again with Salman Ahmad and have produced some major magic, AGAIN! Not even exaggerating (which I do a lot actually), but THIS SONG IS THE BOMB!! Totally my jam!

Now what I absolutely adored about the Project Chamke Hum Se Pakistan is that Pepsi Pakistan has taken upon itself to celebrate the achievements of our under-rated heroes who have brought pride in presenting Pakistan in various fields of sports, social services and activism, and education! They all deserve to be in the limelight to be honest and we sure as hell deserve to know these gems up-close.

So basically the anthem #ChandSitara is a hit of nostalgia with its cinematography show-casing the real Chand Sitara (Shining Stars) of Pakistan and the some really breathtaking view of Pakistan which will definitely make you fall in love with Pakistan and Pakistanis a little more. Some of these amazing heroes include:

  • Saad Ali, who happens to be Pakistan's only Professional race car driver.
  • Fiza Farhan, who is a social entrepreneur and runs a micro-finance institution called Buksh Foundation that manages clean energy projects in underprivileged rural areas of Pakistan, and is recognized by Forbes Magazine.
  • Zeeshan Abbasi, who is the captain of the blind cricket team and holds a record for the fastest blind bowler.
  • Mehak Gul, who is the youngest ever Pakistani citizen to represent Pakistan at World Chess Olympiad.
  • Haroon Tariq, a recognized world record holder of 87 A’s! etc

To be honest, this makes me so proud of the hardworking youth of Pakistan that is always finding ways to make Pakistan stand out of the crowd and making their way to the top. Pepsi Pakistan has brought forward the campaign Chamke Hum Se Pakistan on this Independence day to give the youth of Pakistan a platform and inspiration to make their country proud, which I think is absolutely praiseworthy and brilliant! Hats off and Kudos to the team of Pepsi Pakistan and the makers of this amazing song #ChandSitara, which will probably take an entire decade or two to get it out of my head :')

oh and to download  #ChandSitara on your phones, type CS and send it to 9005 and tune out of this world while you listen to the song and make future plans to make Pakistan proud :') I'm sure y'all can do that someday! Till then, PAKISTAN ZINDABAD! and this is me, signing off!

A Super-mazing Perfect Day! -Thanks to FoodPanda.pk

Different people around the globe have different ideas of having "THE BEST SUPERMAZING PERFECT DAY". One might have a lazy day at home and call it their perfect day. Some might go on vacations and have plenty of perfect days. One might get hitched have their perfect day, but in my case, let's just not go that extreme :p

My perfect day started when one fine day, I woke up to the smell of rain and the sweet voice of my sister giggling after drawing a mustache with eyeliner on my face. The minute I gained conscience, I stood up and the first thing I did was hug my sister instead of going ga-ga over her cheeky mischief. She lives abroad so we hardly get to see her and maybe that's why she is always getting off the hook.
Anyway, as glad as I was after seeing her, I totally forgot about the eyeliner mooch painting on my face, and went to answer the door. There, stood a postal worker with a couple of things in his hands and carefully reading something off the parcel. I waited for a minute and coughed and the minute he saw me, he made a face as if he was trying very hard not to laugh at me. I instantly remembered and rushed inside while laughing myself as my mother received the post. After the mooch was successfully washed away, I was greeted at the dining table with some amazing Halwa-puri brought by my sister on her way at our place, and some packages that arrived for me. Confused whether to eat first or open the packages, i decided to kill the curiosity and see what and who mailed me. Turns out, the one of those huge packages had a goody from Pepsi pakistan

Well, what can I say, Perks of being a blogger, I guess. It was lovely and heart-warming to see such a nice initiative by Pepsi Pakistan and the lovely gesture of sending micro bloggers a token of appreciation. The next few packages had all the jewelry i ordered straight from Hong Kong and Beijing! That was pretty cool and i was literally on the seventh sky!

After Chugging down, probably everyone's share of halwa puri, we heard thunder and immediately everyone went nuts and rushed upstairs to enjoy the few rains' of Karachi!
The day passed by being probably the best family day everrrr and everything seemed to be falling right into their places. And only one thing could make it even better!

Phone uthao, call lagao?? Nahh that's the thing of the past!. The improved version of it would be "Phone uthao, App lagao!". That's right! After the hunger pangs started to dishoom dishoom us, I got the foodpanda.pk app running and immediately ordered us some mouth watering extremely cheesy 14thStreetPizza from the foodpanda.pk app! because #HungerEmergencies always calls for 14thStreetPizza! Even when there was a heavy rainfall, and even when the foodpanda.pk app specifically told us there might be a bit delay on the deliveries due to the rain, we got our 14thStreetPizza oven hot! Now that's called amazing service!

The foodpanda.pk app not only enables us to order our desired food on the tips of our fingers, but also saves us from the agony of listening to bezaar call attendants of restaurants who literally might lose it if you ask the ENTIRE MENU again so you could pick out what you want to order. And the zillat of hearing some franchises do not deliver to your own place, now THAT'S a major heartbreak to be honest. The Foodpanda.pk app is so simple to operate and easily shows you the number of restaurants that delivers in your area and gives the user an amazing opportunity to avail amazing discounts that are exclusively for ordering through foodpanda.pk! i mean, how more amazing can this get!

So there it was, our savior, our pizza :') I usually cry with joy when I see 14thStreetPizza, and this was no different day. :')
So, yeah! this was my definition of an amazingly perfect day! Till i have more of these perfect days, this is me, signing off!
